Circular economy currently mostly exists in theory. Out of 100 billion tons of resources entering the economy every year only 7.2% are circled back, despite clear benefits of waste and CO2 emissions reduction, new revenue streams, and green job creation. The potential of the circular economy to support sustainable cities, municipalities, and regions still needs to be unlocked.

To this end we propose Value Chain Generator (VCG), a deep tech AI and big data platform, that enables companies, cities, and regions to interconnect and develop circular business models at scale. VCG supports the circular transition by establishing BioLinks (circular business connections) between companies and identifying circular technology and infrastructure gaps, thereby guiding decarbonization investments and policies for cities and regions. By 2030, VCG has the potential to valorise over 100 million tons of residuals and save over 64 million tons of CO2.
